A leading humanitarian organization changing lives, the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) delivers food assistance in emergencies and works with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience. On any given day, WFP has 5,600 trucks, 20 ships and 92 planes on the move, delivering food and other assistance to those most in need. With efforts focused on emergency assistance, relief and rehabilitation, development aid and special operations, most of their work is in conflict-affected countries.
Located across numerous locations, most of their operations are in conflict-ridden, war-torn countries making it difficult to move around. With offices having a limited space, pre-hiring assessments brought an additional set of logistical issues – reserving a space for assessments, providing requisite materials and getting all candidates to appear for the test at a particular date and time. While this in itself was a costly and time consuming process, there was also a major security threat with a possibility of imposters showing up in the office under the pretext of being a candidate attempting the test! In smaller locations where the tests would be conducted over a couple days, there was also the risk of candidates sharing test questions with other candidates yet to take the test.
Remote assessments would prove an ideal solution to address all of these challenges. iMocha’s remote assessment features proved the ideal solution, enabling candidates to attempt the tests as per the time-frame set by the hiring team. The advanced image and video proctoring, window lock with test termination, question randomization, disabled copy/paste features ensured candidates did not participate in any unfair means and only deserving candidates would be shortlisted. Besides this, the WFP team was also happy about the added flexibility for the candidates – no need to take an entire day out of their schedule to travel to the test location and, attempting the test as per their convenience helped improve the candidate experience as well. With all the candidate test data in a single repository, it was easier for the hiring manager to make a hiring decision. The advanced analytics and visual reporting being an added plus!
An existing customer since March 2019, WFP teams based out of Rome, Italy, Egypt and Yemen have been filling their hiring needs with iMocha’s platform, with another 20+ WFP locations in talks to implement the system as well. Till date, around 3146 candidates have been assessed via the platform with 500+ of these candidates meeting the required shortlisting criteria.
